Taraaz is a nonprofit research and advisory organization working at the intersection of technology and human rights.
Taraaz, meaning “spirit level” in Farsi, is a symbol of balance. Our work aims to do just that: strike an informed, thoughtful balance between technological innovation and the protection of human rights.
We investigate the social and human rights implications of emerging digital technologies, particularly AI systems, and drawing on both cross-disciplinary insight and technical expertise translate our research into actionable guidelines, evaluation methods, and policy recommendations.
